Job Purpose: The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is seeking a diligent, motivated, proactive Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) officer to be based in Mbeya for the Greater Ruaha Katavi landscape, to support implementation of the Reserve’s GRM and contribute to an appropriate and timely response to grievances. As part of a comprehensive social safeguards program, WCS is establishing a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) to protect and respect the rights of local communities (LCs), through understanding, investigating, managing, monitoring, and mitigating concerns, suggestions and reports of alleged improper conduct related to activities as expressed by communities.
The GRM officer will support the program director and work closely with the Regional Social Safeguard Coordinator to contribute to the optimal management of the GRM. The position is based full-time on-site at the Mbeya for the greater Ruaha Katavi Landscape, with travel to villages around areas where we implement projects as required.
