CONSERVATION SIGNIFICANCE CONSERVATION SIGNIFICANCE

We address a range of global challenges at national level - quantifying the value provided by habitats and species, mitigating threats posed by industry, climate change and habitat fragmentation, tackling unsustainable wildlife trade and capacity building in various forms.

THREATS THREATS

Wildlife conservation is inseparable from human lives and livelihoods, which affect ecosystems and biodiversity both locally and globally. Despite the seeming remoteness of some of the places we work, global issues and the challenges they entail impact on all our projects - from changing weather patterns influencing agriculture and animal migrations, to the impact of private sector development on landscapes and economy and the profound damage being done to Tanzania's biodiversity by unsustainable wildlife trade.

WCS APPROACH WCS APPROACH

WCS strives to address key global issues in its conservation work, all with a view to helping Tanzania conserve its extraordinary wildlife and environment.
